You make no account.

Readout runs no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We never see what you read or listen to.

What you read stays on your phone.

Your files, pages, books, notes and scans stay inside Readout on your phone. The voices run on your phone's own chip, so no word you hear goes to a server. Pages you scan with the camera turn into text on your phone. On Android, Readout keeps its files out of cloud backups.

Downloads carry nothing of yours.

The first time you press play, your phone downloads the voices once: from Hugging Face on iPhone, from GitHub on Android. A link you save fetches its page from that site, the way your browser would. Neither download sends anything about you.

Purchases go through Apple, Google and RevenueCat.

The App Store or Google Play takes every payment. RevenueCat, our purchase service, checks your plan with a random ID that Readout creates on your phone, and never sees what you read. We only learn whether Pro is on. RevenueCat keeps the purchase record so you can restore it on a new phone; read its policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Delete it all in one move.

Delete Readout and everything you saved goes with it. To delete the purchase record RevenueCat keeps, write to us and we delete it.

Your rights.

You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to your data protection authority. Readout holds nothing but the anonymous purchase record above, so most answers are short. Children can use Readout: it collects nothing from anyone.
